I play them all a few times and then just leave them there, my spoils of war.

God of War PSP: Video Trailer and Demo!

Sony has pulled back the curtain a little bit and revealed some new details about the God of War game coming to the PSP. First, we now know the game’s official title will be God of War: Chains of Olympus and that it will take place between God of War and God of War II.

Sony has also opened a teaser website at us.playstation.com/godofwar_chainsofolympus. The site is mostly bare at this point, but it does include the ability to sign up for a free UMD demo of the game (while supplies last of course).

Finally, a YouTube user comes through again with the game’s first trailer. Who knows why it’s not available on the official site, but behold, the first look at God of War: Chains of Olympus…

Free PSP Demo Game Downloads

These demo’s are official Sony releases of some of the best PSP games available.

PSP Demo Download Instructions (using a PC):

1) DOWLOADING - simply download the PSP Demo you wish to play onto your desktop (you can download it elsewhere but it is easier to find on the desktop).

2) EXTRACTING - right click the zip file and choose ‘Extract All…’ to bring up the Extraction Wizard (built into Windows XP and Vista). Click the ‘Extract’ button and after a few seconds a new window will popup with a single folder in it and should have 4 letters followed by 5 numbers such as ‘UCJS10036′ … some demos have a suffix such as ‘-1′ or ‘-demo’, don’t delete they are important. This is the demo’s folder you need to copy onto the PSP’s memory stick. Right click this folder and select ‘Copy’.

3) TRANSFERRING - the easiest way is hooking the PSP up to the PC via USB. Once the PSP is detected you usually see a popup asking what you want to do, select “Open folder to view files” which will open a window which has your PSP’s folders listed. Open the PSP folder … then open the GAME folder. This is the location you want to copy the demo’s folder. Right click on a blank area of this window and select ‘Paste’. After a few seconds of transfering the demo folder (files are contained) you are ready to disconnect your PSP and play the demo.

PSP Blender - How to Download PSP Demo Games

Sony is slowly getting better at releasing demos online for you to try before you buy. Unfortunately though, the downloads are often time-limited or region specific. Follow our guide to download and play demos from all around the world.

On your PC, open your browser and visit PSP Demo Center. You’re presented with logos for each demo as well as the region the demo was released in (if relevant). We chose the LocoRoco Halloween demo.

PSP Burnout Dominator Demo Video!

When Acclaim 1.0 premiered its Burnout series, it launched on the PlayStation 2 way back in 2001. Now, over five years later, the series shows up once more on Sony’s system. Burnout Dominator, a PS2 and PSP exclusive, is now available.  Of course, the franchise is now owned by EA (but, then again, what isn’t?), and it’s a last hurrah for the PS2 before the much-anticipated Burnout 5 hits (hopefully) later this year.

More information can be found in the full press release below:

REDWOOD CITY, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–The king of speed and destruction is back! Electronic Arts (NASDAQ:ERTS) today announced that Burnout™ Dominator has shipped to North American retail outlets for the PlayStation® 2 computer entertainment system and PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) system. Burnout Dominator has been rated E10+ by the ESRB, with descriptors of Violence.

Burnout Dominator is an all-new installment of the blockbuster Burnout™ series that challenges players to face off against a series of hot-blooded rivals in tests of reckless driving. The game features an all-new “Maniac Mode,” daring players to take down other drivers and string together massive combos of the wildest driving stunts without crashing. Burnout Dominator also marks the return of Burnouts and Boost Chaining, where gamers store up supercharged boost and use it all in one go – before combo-ing into another Burnout – for truly irresponsible speed.

“Burnout Dominator celebrates the terrifying feeling of speeding down the wrong side of the road, slamming into the car next to you and teetering on the edge of control at 200 miles per hour,” said senior producer, Nick Channon. “It’s a return to the game’s essence – the fastest, most aggressive racing series out there, bar none.”

Burnout Dominator for PSP also features ad hoc multiplayer for up to six players, as well as “ScoreSync” functionality, which allows gamers to compare their best race times against their friends.

Burnout Dominator was developed by EA’s Criterion Games and UK Studio team in Guildford, UK.

PSP Blender - Sony PSP Firmware and Demos Released

It is recommended that PSP Blender members do not update their firmware to 3.10 for the time being.
Sony released their PlayStation Portable firmware update, 3.10 and now makes demos even easier to check out.

Sony announced the release of the Sony PSP firmware 3.10. It includes Conserve Memory to optimize your Internet browser to see more data while using less memory. Also included with this firmware update is Dynamic Normalizer in the sound settings allowing automatic volume adjustment settings for playback of music and other audio sources with variable output levels.

Sony is also making it easier to check out their demos. Demos are downloadable at the official Sony PSP site as well as at the PlayStation site.

Some of the demos that can be downloaded are Killzone: Liberation which is a third-person shooter putting players into 16 intense missions to rescue hostages from the evil Helghast. Other demos include Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror and SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo 2, both of which are set for release in the next few weeks.
