WARNING: Too good to be true report coming right up. Now, as much as we ourselves are almost jumping for joy, we also can’t help but remain a tiny, little bit skeptical about it all. After all, it’s April Fool’s and we all know that the internet gets flooded with jokes, gags and hoaxes at this time of the year. Anyway, we may all want to just take this with a grain of salt for now, until DAX himself lets everyone know that he is indeed working his magic again on FW 3.30, or until 3.30 O-E actually shows up. However, we ARE crossing our fingers… on with the report!
When we string together Dark_Alex, 3.30, and O-Es, we can only only imagine the smiles this will be putting on the reader’s faces as they add these words up. Yup - PSPgen has just reported that DA has supposedly announced that 3.30 OE is coming soon.
It will be noted that this news comes in shortly after Team C D’s release of a firmware decrypter for v3.30. DA is reportedly using their decrypter to get working on on this new release, although he’s only begun. The good news is that DA has commented it won’t take too long to complete the work - expect a new custom firmware to be up and about soon.
There are no other details at the moment, except that this new firmware is expected to be larger than 3.10 - so have the proper amount of space ready, and hope for the best. Stay posted in case we pick up further details on this breaking news.
The Noobz team (www.noobz.eu), building on the previous Illuminati exploit, have released a new PSP firmware downgrader, which can safely downgrade any known PSP.
This is an amazing breakthrough, and gives the freedom to all PSP users to use legitimate homebrew software.

Tired of waiting for Sony to release your favorite classic PlayStation game for PlayStation Portable playback through the PlayStation 3’s Playstation store? Well you can now play a ripped copy of any PlayStation disc on the PSP.
PSP users that upgrade to the Dark Alex’s Open Edition firmware 3.02-B can play ISOs ripped off of PlayStation discs right from a MemoryStick. Commenters report that the emulation runs at full speed with perfect sound, but PAL games seem to have some graphical glitches. Still, a nice Christmas gift for the hacking/piracy community.

The new PSP slims have been on the market for less than 24 hours but, if we’ve learned one thing from the Internet, it is that the hackers move quickly. Many have feared that the hardware update may make hacking much harder, but the firmware has already been dumped, and it has been confirmed that the system has 66MB of NAND memory, double that of the original PSP.
While Sony is mainly touting the extra memory as a way of decreasing load times in new and existing games, it will have the bonus side effect of giving hackers and homebrew coders much more memory to work with. Will we begin to see homebrew games taking advantage of the extra headroom and requiring the new PSP to play? Perhaps.

Sony reveals new details for BD-Live Interactivity.
Sony kicked off its CES conference today with some big news highlighting several planned BD-Live interactive features coming to Blu-ray in 2008. During an interactive demo on the show floor, Sony revealed a series of interactive features currently planned for the BD-Live networking capabilities.
The first feature previewed was one that would allow viewers to send ringtones to their personal mobile phones, including content from the movie itself. Viewers could extract lines of dialogue from the movie or other audio clips.
More excitingly revealed was that Sony is planning select Blu-ray titles that will include a version of the film encoded for the PSP, thus making the film portable. However, Sony didn’t announce a planned release date or titles that will include this new feature.

1up has the exclusive dirt on a Castlevania remake/port that will be making its way to the PSP (yes, you heard that right, the PSP), presumably in the coming year. For the handheld, which appears to be in a bit of a sales slump, this could be the just kick-in-the-pants it needs. Fans of the Castlevania series are notoriously die-hard, and up until now they’ve been forced to do all their portable vampire slaying on Nintendo’s DS via Dawn of Sorrow and Portrait of Ruin.
The PSP game, titled Castlevania: Dracula X Chronicles is really 2.5 games in one… the main focus here is a 2.5D remake of Castelvania: Rondo of Blood, a Japan-only release until now. Included on the UMD will also be the original Rondo and the much-lauded Symphony of the Night which introduced the free-roaming Metroid-esque level progression to the series.
Right now, Konami expects to have the game out around 9/15/2007, and the title appears to be looking quite good already! We’ll be looking for more news on this bombshell, and we’ll be sure to bring you all the updated info as soon as we get it!
From just about day one, the holy grail of the PSP homebrew scene has been PSX emulation, and while much has been accomplished on this front, the spiffiest emulator yet happens to come courtesy of Sony Computer Entertainment Itself. Of course, that emulator entails a pay-per-download scheme, limited catalog and requires a PS3 to make it all work, right? Not so much anymore, thanks to hacker extraordinaire Dark_AleX and his new Custom Firmware 3.02 OE-B, which lets you convert your very own PSX ISOs and run them at full speed on the PSP. OE-A worked as a hack for Sony-released download titles by stripping the DRM, but it sounds like OE-B is the real deal here. Sure looks like those PSP fanboys are going to be having some happy holidays this year. Keep reading to spy an incredibly blurry vid of the hack in action.
